Mum’s the Word:
Imagine scrolling through Seek.com and finding this job posting:
“No degree necessary, salary and hours non-negotiable, no paid benefits or sick leave; lifelong responsibility”
It’s hard to believe that there are over six million Australian women that hold this position. What’s the title?
We all have a mother, and we know how much they sacrifice for their ‘jobs’. They sacrifice sleep, peace and quiet, holidays, alcohol and their waistlines for 9 months.
However, all of this does not equate to the love they have for their children.
Why do we celebrate Mother’s Day?
On the 8th of March we acknowledged women by celebrating their social, economic, cultural and political achievements. This is not dissimilar to Mothers Day.
Mother’s Day is commemorated across the world on various days to respect, honour and express love towards our mothers.
In the 2016 Australian Census it was reported that there are 114,800 mums who work, study and care for their children under the age of 15 at the same time.
Mothers really are superhuman.
To all the mothers and mother figures at CoWork Me – thank you. We hope your weekend is full of love, hugs and champagne.
Happy Mother’s Day!
